VFW Post 4608 Ledyard, CT Located in Ledyard, CT, is active in community projects. The VFW was founded to be a strong voice for veterans of the Armed Forces and their families.

The Post and it's members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars meet at Gales Ferry Fire House on the second Saturday of the month at 1000 AM. We locally support our veterans, service members and their families through community programs. Our projects include High School and Middle School Essay contests; "Buddy Poppy" distribution to support the disabled and disadvantaged veterans; Flag placement on

local cemeteries; Collect Labels for Education and Stamps for the wounded; Eagle Scout recognition program; CT Veteran's Hospital Program; Big Brothers and Sisters organixation as well as other community projects.
