Please join the Town of Galena this evening at 6:00 PM for our Annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony as we come together to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

This year marks 25 years since September 11, 2001. We invite our community to join us in remembrance of the victims, their families, and the first responders and heroes whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Beginning Thursday, August 27, 2026, a contractor will be completing resurfacing work on both sections of Irelands Corner Road in Galena.

Both sections of the roadway will be closed while paving operations are in progress. Work is expected to take place throughout the day on Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28.

Residents and motorists in the area should plan ahead and allow additional time for travel or seek alternate routes when possible.

The Mayor & Council of Galena have adopted Ordinance 2026-07, which amends Chapter 131 of the Town Code to prohibit the deposit of grass clippings, leaves, and other yard debris on public streets, sidewalks, gutters, storm drains, and other public rights-of-way.

The ordinance was adopted on August 3, 2026, and is available for public review during normal business hours at Town Hall (101 S. Main Street) or at https://townofgalena.com/legislation
