Come enjoy a pork chop dinner while supporting your local volunteer firefighters. It's a great evening of good food, great music, and an opportunity to meet the men and women who proudly serve our community.

SMFPD members had a great time visiting Scales Mound School for Fire Safety Day! 👩‍🚒🧑‍🚒
The kids got to go through the smokehouse and learn what it’s like to be inside a smoke-filled environment, while our firefighters talked about fire safety, what firefighters do, and what to expect during an emergency.
Most importantly, we wanted the kids to know that firefighters are here to help! ❤️ Whether it’s a fire, medical emergency, or another situation, our job is to keep our community safe.
A big thank you to Scales Mound School for having us and to all the students for being such great listeners and participants! 🚒❤️

We had a great time joining the GTA for their End of Summer Bash! ☀️
Our trucks were on display, the water was spraying, and there was plenty of fun for everyone! 💦🚒
We love getting out in the community, meeting our neighbors, and giving everyone - especially the kids - an up-close look at our trucks and what we do!

🚨 SMFPD Safety Reminder: Check Those Alarms! 🚨
We’ve had quite a few false alarms lately, so we want to take this opportunity to remind everyone to check your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors regularly!

✅ Test alarms monthly
🔋 Replace batteries as needed
📅 Check the age of your alarms and replace them according to the manufacturer’s recommendations
🧹 Keep alarms clean and free of dust and debris
🏠 Make sure you have working alarms on every level of your home and near sleeping areas

Even though a false alarm may seem like a nuisance, never ignore an alarm. If your smoke or CO detector activates, take it seriously and make sure everyone is safely accounted for.

Tonight, the crew at SMFPD spent some time together at the station getting in some hands-on training and having a little fun along the way. 🔥

Tonight’s activities included:
🧑‍🚒 Turnout gear challenge
💪 Agility testing for a new member
🚒 Training on different truck features and equipment
🛠️ Hands-on practice and familiarization
😂 And, of course, some good crew time!

Training nights like these help keep our members prepared, confident, and ready to serve our community when the call comes in. ❤️‍🔥
