Mike served in the miltary and will retire from OhioHealth in January 2023. He coached youth soccer and basketball and helped with the Boy Scouts. Madge works for the Ohio Geological Survey and sings for the Church Choir. Both are actively involved in their family and the community.

We found out today that our neighbors lied to people to get them to sign the petition. They told people we were developing acres of farm land, wanting to put in many houses. Its sad that people stoop this low. We only want to divide our land and build a house for our daughter and her family. Our proposal was approved and we’d like to divide our 5 acres into two-2.5 acres lots. Please check out our website to find out the truth and learn about the zoning amendment.

Hi there! our names are Michael Fitak and Madge Fitak. We own 5 acres of beautiful land in Harlem township. When we built on our property in 2006, we planned to split the property one day and pass the section off to our daughter and her children. Unfortunately, we are aging and medical problems are forcing us to look for help. We want to stay in our home and build a house for our daughter and her family to assist us with our medical needs as we age.

The zoning change to make the split was apporved by both Harlem Township and Delaware County. We met all the requirements to be able to split our land into two lots. We are not building condos or a development, we are simply dividing it, so our daughter and her family can build a house and we can pass on our legacy.

Our neighbors are trying to deny us that right. They are challenging this zoning change. We met all the requirements to change the zoning from AR-1 (Agriculture) to FR-1 (Family Residential) and it was approved, but it comes down to our neighbors making decisions about what we do with our property. We all should be able to do what we like with our own property within the confines of the law.

This could happen to you.​ A neighbor could stop you from passing your legacy on to your children.

We need your help to vote YES on the zoning amendment.
Help us in making this a right for ALL Harlem Township residents - the right to divide your property into two so a loved one can build and be closer to family.
