Centerpoint has notified affected houses that there will be a temporary electricity service interruption tomorrow from 8 am until 1 pm. The Churchill Building in Galena Manor (1508 Hunter St) will be open, in case you are without power for a while tomorrow. // Centerpoint ha informado a los hogares afectados de que mañana habrá una interrupción temporal del servicio de electricidad entre las 8:00 a. m. y la 1:00 p. m. Si se queda sin electricidad, sientase libre de pasar al edificio Churchill en Galena Manor (1508 Hunter St).

A quick note about recent Code Enforcement warnings for vehicles parked in yards:

City ordinance requires vehicles in the front yard of a residential property to be parked in a driveway or garage, rather than on the grass or other parts of the yard. This requirement is found in Section 10-179 of the Galena Park Code of Ordinances.

The goal is simply to help keep our neighborhoods looking cleaner, nicer, and well cared for.

We also know nobody is perfect. If you receive a warning and feel like we got it wrong, or if you’re unsure what needs to be corrected, please reach out to City Hall. We’re happy to take another look and help clear things up.

There is a water leak on Eastway St between 8th and 9th Streets. The Water Department is taking care of it, and we will keep you up to date. // Hay una fuga de agua en la calle Eastway, entre las calles 8 y 9. El Departamento de Agua se está encargando del problema y los mantendremos informados.

The pool is staying open on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. through the end of September.

Trash pickup services in the affected area have been rescheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, August 13th.

12500 block of Old Industrial has a low hanging telecommunication wire. ATT crews are on the way to make repairs. Oversized vehicles over 8 feet tall will not be able to make entry to the neighborhood which may delay Amazon and other delivery services.

📢 There are reports of tap water smelling strongly of chlorine from the 1300 block of 17th St. We advise that you run your water for a few minutes before using it to cook or bathe. // Se han recibido reportes de que el agua del grifo tiene un fuerte olor a cloro en la cuadra 1300 de la calle 17. Recomendamos que dejen correr el agua durante unos minutos antes de usarla para cocinar o bañarse.
