Alachua County was proud to celebrate the incredible individuals who give their time, talents, and hearts to make our community stronger at the 2026 Volunteer Appreciation Event! 🎉👏

This special event was a wonderful opportunity to recognize and thank volunteers from across the County who generously serve our community in so many meaningful ways. Whether they are supporting County programs, helping our residents, assisting with community events, or lending a helping hand wherever needed, our volunteers make a difference every day.

We were honored to hear from members of the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners and welcomed our special guest speaker, Professor Terry Harpold, who shared inspiring words about the importance and impact of volunteerism.

Making Connections, Building Opportunities!

On July 11, 2026 the Alachua County Human Resources team was proud to participate in the Better Together Job Fair at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Gainesville.

A special thank you to Wanda Santana and Priscila Candal for representing Alachua County Human Resources and connecting with talented job seekers from across our community. Throughout the event, they shared information about career opportunities with Alachua County, answered questions about employment and benefits, and helped prospective applicants learn more about joining our team.

Events like the Better Together Job Fair are a wonderful reminder that strong partnerships create stronger communities. We appreciate Better Together, St. Patrick Catholic Church, and all of the organizations that helped make this event a success.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth—we enjoyed meeting so many talented individuals and look forward to welcoming future members to the Alachua County family!
