Gainesville Economic Development Corp Promoting business retention, expansion, and recruitment in the Gainesville area The Gainesville EDC is a 4B type of economic development corporation.

We assist primary businesses, which are companies that sell the majority of their products or services outside Cooke County, and do not compete directly with existing local businesses. We are also allowed to participate in projects which are not primary businesses and are more quality of life oriented. The GEDC has an aggressive business incentive program which is funded from the proceeds of a quarter-cent sales tax for economic development, providing $1.5 million annually.
