GAINESVILLE, Ga. (May 29, 2026) โ The Gainesville Department of Water Resources (DWR) has released its 2025 Water Quality Report, which contains results from 2025 calendar year testing of the City of Gainesville, Georgia's drinking water system.
In 2025, Gainesville Water Resources served 208,906 users on 62,336 accounts across 400 square miles, who consumed on average nearly 23 million gallons of water daily. After 25,000-plus annual water tests analyzing 100-plus substances, the report again confirms the water is safe to drink and meets or surpasses all state and federal standards.
It should be noted the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency adopted new rules allowing water providers to distribute the annual reports electronically. Customers received a bill insert with their May billing statement notifying them of the report's availability on the City website, gainesville.org. The insert advises customers if they wish to have a paper copy of the report mailed to them, they can call the number below.
