WorkSource Georgia Mountains Provide education and training opportunities for Youth & Adults in the Georgia Mountains Region

WorkSource Georgia Mountains goal-under the leadership of the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission and the Technical College System of Georgia- is to build a world-class workforce that: enables individuals to achieve their highest potential; ensures employers have the skilled workers they need to compete effectively in the global economy; and to capitalize on the untapped potential of underemploy

ed and dislocated workers, youth and other job seekers with special needs. WorkSource Georgia Mountains provides funding for education and training to eligible individuals to enhance their current skills or learn a new trade. We also supply funding and services for Georgians who lose their job as a result of plant closures, mass layoffs, and other effects of the changing economy. Our Business Services department provides several programs to employers in our area: On-the-Job Training, Incumbent Worker Training, Apprenticeship and Internship opportunities. This area serves individuals in Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White Counties.

The Georgia Mountains One Stop Career Center plans and hosts bi-monthly Partners Meetings at the One-Stop training room. The purpose of these meetings is to learn about services available, to share updates from each partner organization, and to promote referrals. Each meeting has a focus topic about programs and resources related to workforce development in the thirteen county Georgia Mountains region.
