I have had many CPR classes over the past few years but was never told this…..
Have you ever thought about it ❤️
When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then ?
A rarely good post that can't be shared often enough:
1.
Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.
2.
You are really tired and frustrated.
All of a sudden your chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.
3.
Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..
4.
Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.
5.
How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.
6.
But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.
7.
Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment
8.
Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.
9. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.
Instead of posting jokes, you're helping save lives by spreading this message.

Good News! Effective Saturday 8/5/2023 STAGE 3 HAS BEEN LIFTED.

We are now back to Stage 2 watering. Please make sure that you are only watering on your allotted days.

Once irrigation systems are turned back on, the usage will jump over 1 million+ gallons in one allotted day. Please do not re-adjust your system to make up watering time. We do not want to overload the system.

Even address: Tuesday and Saturday only

Odd address: Wednesday and Sunday only
Please refer to the Stage 2 drought contingency plan at our website at www.lksud.org for full details.

We know this has been a very stressful time and appreciate your cooperation.

End Of Day Update 7/31/2023 1.The tanks levels are staying at normal levels 2. The work-over rig has been lowered. 3. We have a pump and motor. 4. Waiting on casing to be delivered (expected Wednesday noon) We still have people running irrigation systems and we know who you are. Please stop before you are fined.

07/31/2023

This is Ronny Young and I have been given permission by the LKSUD Board of Directors to make some post to try and keep you updated on our current well situation.

A email/text was sent out this morning that stated that Stage 3 is Still In Effect! They continue to pull casing out of the well and a new pump and motor have been located and are in route. The reason no work was done over the weekend is hat the tongs they were using to separate the pipe casing were damaging the casing so the had to find a replacement. The casing is also goin to have to be replaced and it has been ordered and is expected by Wednesday. The are estimates only! Hopefully the well will be back online berfore the week is over.

To try and keep everything from dying they are going to allow hand watering flower beds and potted plants using the same odd/even address plan as used in Stage 2. Please don't waste your water by watering in the heat of the day! very little gets to the roots of the plant. I will try to make an update around 5pm each day until everything is back online.

07/26/2023

Attention: STAGE 3 Watering in effect!
NO OUTSIDE WATERING
We currently have a water well that has stopped working.
We have started the process of getting it repaired.
If everyone complies we have enough water for household uses.
Please do your part to comply and let neighbors know that we are in STAGE 3.
It will be recended as soon as the well is back online!

Boil Water Notice Rescinded
February 22, 2021

On February 17, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Lake Kiowa Special Utility District, a public water system, PWS #0490016, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as February 22, 2021.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Ronny Young, General Manager at (940) 668-8391. We appreciate your patience in this trying time for us all!

Boil Water Notice for Lake Kiowa Special Utility, a Public Water System

Feb 17, 2021

Due to reduced distribution system pressure, line breaks, and low disinfection residuals, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Lake Kiowa Special Utility District PWS #0490016 a public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

All of these items above were caused by a loss of power to our systems facilities. We are currently disinfecting the water at a higher level than normal to insure your health and safety.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Ronny Young, General Manager LKSUD at (940) 668-8391.

Water should be coming now! We have it coming slowly to try and protect your property as well as the main lines! If you don’t have any water yet it should start dripping and then getting a little stronger through out the day!
Thanks to all who helped get everything back up and going!
Hopefully we can keep power and keep if going!

Water Update. All of our wells are working but the lines that are used to transfer water to out ground storage tanks are frozen. We are continuing to try to find a way to thaw them out but with single digit temps and short times of power it may not be possible! We have and have had numerous breaks on the system including many backflow devices. When we do get the water service restored PLEASE boil any water before you consume! All prayer are needed for all!
