At approximately 10:42 p.m., Hall County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in Flowery Branch. Initial information indicated the incident was reported by a neighbor who witnessed flames spewing from the residence.
Engine 8 arrived on scene at approximately 10:49 p.m., and discovered a small, two-story residential structure on a basement with fire involving the back of the home, extending between the first and second floors and into the attic.
Hose lines were immediately pulled to initiate a fire attack on the bulk of the fire and to prevent further extension. As more companies arrived, crews deployed additional hose lines to the interior of the residence, advancing through the first floor, second floor, and into the attic to locate and extinguish the extending fire. Positive pressure ventilation fans were also utilized to remove smoke from the structure and improve interior conditions for operating crews.
All occupants had safely exited the residence prior to the arrival of fire department personnel. Crews completed both primary and secondary searches of the structure, with no occupants found inside. The structure is a total loss and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office.
