Established in 1987 to serve the counties of Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette, and Levy, in North Central Florida. BMFB functions by acquiring, storing, and distributing food and basic essentials via the support of 170+ agency partners and over 500 community volunteers. We work to lead our community in the fight against hunger by increasing access to sufficient and nutritious food.

Talk about "Fueling Good!" 🔥 A massive thank you to this awesome Gas South crew for spending their Tuesday morning with us!

During their shift, the team rolled up their sleeves and sorted:
🍞 2 full pallets of bread
📦 1.5 pallets of dry goods

Their efforts helped feed 2,324 neighbors in our community! 🧡

This was just the first of 5 volunteer shifts Gas South has scheduled with us during their "Fueling Good" summer of service.

Altogether, they provided about 1,400 meals for our neighbors facing food insecurity!

Did you know we distributed 7.4 million pounds of food last year?

That’s enough to cover the entire field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, with food stacked 16 feet high.

It’s a staggering number when you picture it like that. But for us, it’s not about the scale; it’s about what that food means once it leaves our warehouse.

It’s groceries in the backseat. It’s a parent figuring out dinner. It’s one less impossible choice.
