We met Sage, and she is such a sweet puppy!
She is affectionate, spirited, and full of puppy charm. Like all puppies, Sage will need patience, training, and guidance as she learns how to be the best dog she can be. She has a few puppy behaviors (jumping and nibbly) that need a little fine tuning.

Sage is almost 6 months old and 30 lbs.
Rescue only -Sage 61114489- limping left rear leg
Staff noted non-weight bearing lameness on left rear leg shortly after intake (appeared normal on initial exam).
While under anesthesia for spay surgery, both rear limbs were palpated - no significant swelling or redness noted, normal ROM for all joints, no irregularity palpable on long bones, negative cranial drawer sign bilaterally
VD/lateral pelvis/rear limb radiographs revealed left sided tibial tuberosity avulsion, otherwise WNL.
Plan: Continue carprofen and gabapentin. Treatment for this condition typically requires surgery (preferred), but non-surgical correction can be attempted with splinting and strict cage rest for 4-6 weeks.
