First Steps to School Readiness in 1999, non-profit partnerships in the state's 46 counties have helped over half a million children prepare for school. These programs strengthen families, improve child health and well-being, increase child care quality and early education opportunities, and help children transition to kindergarten.

They may not be talking back yet, but they’re listening! Talking to your baby throughout the day helps build early language skills and strengthens your connection.

Try:
• Narrating what you’re doing
• Singing songs together 🎶
• Pointing out things around you
• Responding to their sounds and babbles
• Asking questions—even if they can’t answer yet! 😂

Today, we remember Dolly Parton not only for her extraordinary talent, but for her generosity and heart.

Through a $100,000 gift to the Spartanburg Regional Foundation, Dolly helped create the Healing Garden at Union Medical Center, a peaceful place of comfort, reflection and healing for patients, families and associates.

Thank you, Dolly, for your kindness and for the lasting impact you've made on our community. Your legacy will continue to bloom for generations to come.
