Engine 105 operating defensive on a structure fire while assisting Hokes Bluff Fire Department. The Bluff, Ballplay Bend, and Glencoe Fire Departments responded. Thank you Etowah County 9-1-1 for your help! Thank you Etowah EMA for the offer for drinking water on this 100+ degree day.

Some of our members got to attend the Alabama Power Safe-T-Zone class today at the Venue in Gadsden. This class showed some demonstrations on how to stay safe around power lines and especially downed power lines. We respond to many calls each year that involve downed lines.

Engine 106 packing up on a hayfield fire today. The fire was in a cut hayfield and workers on the scene advised it was a lightning strike that started fire. The worker stated they were working in another part of the field and saw the smoke.

Please stay weather aware with these summer pop-up storms.

Also on scene were Engine 105, Brush Trucks 205 & 206, and Rescue Trucks 405 & 406, as well as 10 BBFD Firefighters.

We are grateful to DripDrop and National Volunteer Fire Council for their support through the 2026 DripDrop Hydration Giveback Campaign! Fast hydration is essential for our firefighters working in summer heat, during wildfires, and on long calls.
