💙 SUCCESS ISN’T A STRAIGHT LINE. AND NO STUDENT SHOULD HAVE TO NAVIGATE IT ALONE.

When a teacher reached out to United Way/211 asking, “Where do we start?” we knew the answer would take more than one phone call or one organization.

This student's journey required a community.
From food assistance and home repairs to medical needs, financial concerns, and plans for college, multiple community partners came together to help address the barriers standing in the way of his success.

Today, he's graduated from Gadsden State, transferred to Jacksonville State University, and is working toward his future. 🎓
His story isn't over, and neither is ours.

Our role has shifted as we've worked to connect him with resources, build a support system, and help position him for greater independence. That's what success looks like: not creating dependence on one organization, but bringing the right people together to help someone move forward.

And there are more students and families in our community asking that same question: Where do we start?

Your donation to United Way of Etowah County helps us connect the dots, bring community partners together, and ensure that when someone needs help, they don't have to figure it all out alone.

❤️ Donate today to help us support more students, strengthen more families, and build brighter futures across Etowah County.
Because one student's story can show us what's possible. Your generosity helps make that possibility real for others.

United is the Way.

🍎 💙 WORLD FOOD DAY | OCTOBER 16

Having enough food to eat shouldn’t be a daily worry. Everyone deserves access to food and the support they need to care for themselves and their families.

On World Food Day, 211 First Call for Help wants to remind our community that if you or someone you know is struggling to put food on the table, you don’t have to figure it out alone. ❤️

🥫 Finding food assistance can feel overwhelming, especially when you don’t know where to turn. That’s where we come in! 211 First Call for Help can connect you with local food pantries, meal programs, and other community resources to help meet your needs.

📞 Looking for food assistance? Call 211 or text ALFOOD to 898-211. We’ll help you find resources and take the first step toward getting the support you need.

Let’s use this World Food Day to spread awareness, share resources, and remind our neighbors that asking for help is always okay. Sometimes, one connection can make a world of difference. 🌎
