This week's theme is "Itawamba County" as we celebrate the places, buildings, and landmarks that make our community special. Use your imagination and building skills to create models of some of Itawamba County's most recognizable locationsβ€”or come up with your own unique ideas!

Some possible inspirations include:

Itawamba Community College
Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway
Itawamba County Courthouse (soon to be rebuilt, but still worth remembering in its current form!)
Itawamba County Pratt Memorial Library
Itawamba County schools
City halls in Fulton, Mantachie, and Tremont
Sheriff's offices and police departments
Fire departments
Churches
Walmart
Itawamba County Development Council
Family-owned businesses
Historic buildings and local landmarks

Whether you build something from this list or create your own Itawamba County masterpiece, we can't wait to see what you come up with. See you at Lego Club this afternoon! πŸ§±πŸ—οΈπŸ˜οΈ

Our first official week of the Summer Reading Program was a blast, and we're ready to keep the fun going!

πŸ“š Today, Monday, June 8, at 4:00 PM, we will host the Itawamba County Library Adult Book Club as we discuss the spy thriller First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston. Everyone is invited to join us.

🐌 Later at 5:00 PM, join us for a Snail-Themed Storytime and Craft.

🏈 On Tuesday, June 9, at 10:00 AM, we'll continue R.E.A.D. Squad as we finish The Zach and Zoe Mysteries: Football Fiasco by Mike Lupica. Don't worry if you missed the first partβ€”we'll catch everyone up before we begin. Afterwards, we'll combine sports and American trivia in a fun game of Backyard Pong featuring questions about state capitals, landmarks, flags, and more.

πŸŒͺ️ On Wednesday, June 10, at 1:00 PM, we'll do something a little different for Lego Club. Here in Mississippi, we're no strangers to extreme weather. This week, participants will learn about weatherizing homes. Instead of building houses, each participant will receive a pre-made home and be challenged to protect it from high winds, heavy rain, flooding, and other weather hazards. We'll put those protection systems to the test using fans, water, and more. Let's see whose home stays dry and standing!

🎭 On Thursday, June 11, at 2:00 PM, at the Historic Fulton Grammar School, we will welcome Runaway Puppet Theatre as they present the rip-roaringly hilarious show Tall Tales, Tiny Heroes.

🧩 Looking for something to do anytime this week? Help us work on our first community puzzleβ€”a super cool T-Rex-themed challenge!

πŸ¦• We also have dinosaur coloring sheets, activity pages, and more available at the library.

Come see us this weekβ€”we'd love to have you join the fun!
