Our House: Caring for Callaway's Homeless

Shelter. Educate. Advocate. Our House operates two shelters. Haven House--a transitional shelter for families with children (opened in 2000).

Wiley House--an overnight shelter for men and women (opened in 2009). Our House also educates the community about homelessness and housing insecurity and advocates for those experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Thank you for all of the community support!!! Today, Saturday, September 5, 2026 Mary, Jude, Scott and I will be selling $5 Shave Ice (flavorings from Hawaii) for a large serving at the Mokane Lions Club Annual World's Fair, Mokane, MO from 2 PM until we run out. We will be set up across the street at 208 Fulton Avenue in Mokane. Look for our tent and signs. This is to benefit Our House: Caring for Callaway's Homeless. It will be hot and this will cool you off. Thanks to the Mokane Lions Club for their event that will attract many; from Our House Board Member and President of the Fulton Lions Club (forming) Branch of the Auxvasse Lions Club.--Warren M Hollrah, Lions serve the public (clubs in Callaway County--Mokane, Holts Summit, New Bloomfield, Millersburg, Auxvasse and its branch (Fulton)

SHOUT OUT to Hornbuckle Heating and Cooling. These guys have been wonderful to us through the highs and lows of maintenance repairs all year long. Having to maintain equipment to keep up to 20 adults comfortable under one roof is not an easy task but it was possible to get through because of all the great people at Hornbuckle. Always polite, kind and professional! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for putting up with us!

Several of our guests had the opportunity to meet with Shannon from Aging Best to sign up for services and get some great ideas for their health.
Shannon handled the day like a trooper with our buddy here!! With him around, it is never dull and you just never know what wisecrack is going to come out next!!! So many have said "I wanna be like him when I grow up!" 😆

Saturday was giving back to the community day and what a BLESSING to all of us at Our House it was! We were grateful for their help, kindness and humor! Making connections and sharing ideas! Let's give these guys a huge shout out!!🤜

Look at that beautiful smile!! This princess was excited to get back to school and show off those new braids (her buddy pouting on the side is not so sure).

We were honored to represent Our House at the 2026 MSECC Kick Off event. We enjoyed great conversation with neighboring partners.
