At approximately 1:42 p.m. today, the Perth Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Route 107 in the Valley Estates community. The Broadalbin-Kennyetto Fire Company was also dispatched on automatic daytime mutual aid.
While crews were responding, additional mutual aid was requested from the Berkshire Volunteer Fire Department, Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department, and the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of these departments. Like the members of the Perth Volunteer Fire company, these dedicated volunteers left their homes, families, and places of employment to answer the call and help a community member in need.

While the home sustained extensive damage and beloved family pets were sadly lost, we are grateful that no human lives were lost.
Please keep the affected family in your thoughts during this difficult time, and remember to thank the volunteers and emergency personnel who stand ready to serve our communities each and every day.
