This morning was a special one for the Fulshear Police Department and our community as we officially welcomed five new officers into the Fulshear Police Department family: Daniel Karmout, Dylan Wolff, Justin Martin, Wesley Saenz, and Devin Hollis.
Officer Dylan Wolff was born and raised in Rosenberg and graduated from B.F. Terry High School. After attending Blinn College, Dylan graduated from the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy, Class #50. Growing up, he dreamed of becoming a Texas Game Warden, and his interactions with law enforcement officers throughout his life ultimately inspired him to pursue a career serving others. Away from work, Dylan enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf and is a devoted Astros, Texans, and Texas A&M fan. He has even had the opportunity to play Whispering Pines Golf Club when it was ranked the number-one golf course in Texas. Not a bad day, regardless of what the scorecard said.
Officer Justin Martin was born in Sugar Land and raised in Cypress. Justin also attended the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy and chose this profession after thinking seriously about what he wanted his career to mean. He realized that being there for people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives was important to him. Justin enjoys fishing, overlanding, spending time with family, and working with his hands. We also learned that he can apparently fix just about anything, even if he has never worked on it before. We have a feeling that particular skill may make him very popular around the Police Department.
Officer Daniel Karmout was born in Houston and raised in Stafford. He graduated from Stafford High School and later earned a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is also a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and a graduate of Gus George Law Enforcement Academy Class #50. Becoming a police officer was a longtime dream for Daniel. Despite obstacles along the way, he refused to give up. He believes everything happens in its proper time and that this was the time God ordained for him to fulfill that dream. Daniel and his wife have a blended family with five children, along with Oakley the dog and Dallas the cat. He enjoys golf, even if the scorecard doesn't always cooperate. And considering he has already gone skydiving, bungee jumping, and free-falling seven stories, apparently becoming a police officer was simply the next logical adventure.
Officer Wesley Saenz is a native Houstonian who was born and raised in Fort Bend County. He graduated from L.V. Hightower High School, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Houston-Downtown, and later earned a Master of International Business from the University of St. Thomas. He is another proud graduate of Gus George Law Enforcement Academy Class #50. Wesley's wife, a Nurse Practitioner working in pediatric trauma, inspired him through the difference she makes in the lives of others. That caused Wesley to examine his own career and decide he wanted to dedicate himself to helping, serving, and protecting others. Before entering the academy, Wesley served as the School Resource Officer at James Randolph Elementary. He and his wife love traveling and scuba diving and once completed their scuba certification in the Bahamas, only to go diving with sharks the very next day. Wesley is also a huge Houston sports fan, with the Astros holding the number-one spot.
Officer Devin Hollis was born in Lake Jackson and raised in Rosenberg. He graduated from B.F. Terry High School in 2017 before attending Texas A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology in 2021. He later attended the Wharton County Junior College Police Academy. Law enforcement has always been part of Devin's life. His mother worked in telecommunications, giving him an opportunity to grow up around the profession and see firsthand the good behind the badge. Devin enjoys traveling, cruising, collecting movies, trying new restaurants, and running. As a proud Texas A&M graduate, the Aggies will always be his number-one team, although he admits the Astros provide a welcome break from the occasional heart attacks that come with being an Aggie fan. Devin also has perhaps the best claim to fame of the group: he once served coffee to Chuck Norris.
That badge will become an important part of their lives, but we hope Daniel, Dylan, Justin, Wesley, and Devin always remember something we shared with them this morning:
