Orange County voters weighed in on three pivotal Board of Supervisors races last night. The graphics indicate early returns.
In District 2, incumbent Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento is likely to win re-election outright if his current lead holds. If OC Supervisors receive 50% of the vote plus one, the election is over. If no candidate wins a majority, then a runoff is held in November. That's where incumbent District 5 Supervisor Katrina Foley is heading and so is Buena Park Mayor Connor Traut in his bid to win the District 4 seat. Results will be updated in just a few hours. The Board of Supervisors oversees billions of dollars in county spending and plays a key role in decisions affecting public health, housing, infrastructure, public safety, and social services. Results remain unofficial until all eligible ballots are counted and certified. We also have early returns from the 67th District State Assembly race which, so far, shows former Cerritos Mayor Mark Pulido qualifying for the November election over endorsed Democratic candidate Ada Briceño.
