Yesterday, the Fullerton Police Department proudly participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) in support of Special Olympics Southern California.

The Torch Run is a longstanding tradition that brings together law enforcement agencies from across the region to raise awareness and support for Special Olympics athletes. Fullerton officers had the honor of receiving the Flame of Hope from the Anaheim Police Department before continuing the run through our city and handing the torch off to Cal State Fullerton Police Department.

Thank you to all of the agencies, athletes and supporters who helped make this event a success. We are proud to support the incredible athletes of Special Olympics and the mission of inclusion, determination, and opportunity for all.

A traffic stop for a vehicle code violation led to much more than a citation this week.

While conducting a traffic stop in the area of Nutwood Avenue and the 57 Freeway, an officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and attempted to make a stop. Instead of immediately yielding, the driver entered the freeway before eventually slowing down. Before the vehicle came to a complete stop, a female passenger exited and fled on foot. Moments later, the male driver also fled.

Responding officers quickly detained the female passenger in a nearby flood control channel. With the assistance of the California Highway Patrol, the male suspect was located and apprehended without incident after running into a nearby flood control tunnel.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of several catalytic converters. Both suspects were arrested and booked on numerous charges, including grand theft, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

What started as a traffic stop ended with two arrests and the recovery of suspected stolen property.

Last night at approximately 9:17 PM, Fullerton Police Officers responded to the area of Harbor Blvd and Las Riendas Dr regarding a possible residential burglary in progress. The caller reported seeing an unknown subject in their yard via surveillance cameras, and that the suspect may have entered the residence.

Officers quickly responded, located the caller and the suspects, and ultimately arrested five individuals for residential burglary and conspiracy. Two of the five suspects are on probation or parole for burglary, and all five have prior burglary-related arrests.

Your calls matter. If you see something suspicious, say something. Quick and detailed reporting helps officers locate suspects and keeps our community safe.

Yesterday around 10:00 AM, one of our Motor Officers stopped a driver who decided honesty was the best policy…

The driver immediately admitted to drinking and driving. During the investigation, the officer also located co***ne inside the vehicle on a shirt. When asked about it, the driver casually asked if the officer “needed him to dust it off.”

Spoiler alert: He did not and that would be destruction of evidence.

The driver was arrested for DUI and drug-related charges. Thankfully, this stop happened before someone was seriously hurt.

If you drink, don’t drive. Call a rideshare, a friend, a family member… literally anyone but your steering wheel.

Rest easy, Jax. Thank you for your loyal service and dedication to the Fullerton Police Department. Your watch has ended, but your impact will never be forgotten. 🐾🖤

Today, with heavy hearts, the Fullerton Police Canine Association announces the passing of retired Fullerton Police K-9 Jax, who crossed the rainbow bridge on May 19, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

K-9 Jax faithfully served the Fullerton community for seven years alongside his handler with unwavering loyalty, courage, and dedication. After an incredible career, Jax retired in 2022 and transitioned from protecting our community to enjoying a well-earned retirement.

Jax’s impact extended far beyond his service years. In 2018, he inspired the creation of the Fullerton Police Canine Association, and we are incredibly thankful our foundation was able to support his ongoing medical treatment throughout retirement.

Without the generosity of our community, supporters, and local businesses through donations, Jax’s long and well-enjoyed retirement would not have been possible. Your support gave him additional time surrounded by love, comfort, and the family who cared for him so deeply.

Like so many of our four-legged partners, Jax was more than just a police dog — he was a teammate, protector, and family member.

We extend our deepest condolences to Jax’s handler, family, and everyone whose lives he touched throughout his years of service.

Run free, Jax. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. You were a good boy to the very end.

Today, members of the Fullerton PD Honor Guard proudly presented the colors and performed a gun salute in remembrance of the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our nation’s freedoms.

For many years, the FPD Honor Guard has been honored to participate in Orange County’s oldest Memorial Day observance, held right here in our community at Loma Vista Memorial Park and hosted by the American Veterans Memorial Association.

Today, we remember and honor those who gave all in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Today, the Fullerton Police Department joins communities across the nation in honoring and remembering the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer—it is a day of reflection and gratitude for those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As we spend time with family and friends, attend ceremonies, or enjoy the holiday weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember and honor those who never made it home.

From all of us at Fullerton PD, we thank our fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their legacy.
