TRUE or FALSE:

Caregivers are often the first to notice subtle cognitive changes.

True.

Small changes in conversation, routines, decision-making, or confusion are often noticed at home long before a formal diagnosis happens.

Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month is a reminder that those observations matter.

You might notice it before they say anything.

Holding things closer. Turning on more lights. Taking a second longer on steps.

It’s easy to brush off, especially when it happens slowly.

Healthy vision isn’t just about seeing clearly—it’s about catching those small changes early.

People talk about recovery.

They don’t always talk about what happens at home.

The adjustments. The repetition. The patience it takes to navigate daily changes.

Caregiving after a stroke isn’t just one moment—it’s everything that follows.

You don’t have to figure that part out alone.

Caring for someone with ALS or Huntington’s disease often means navigating constant change.

Routines shift. Needs evolve. And the emotional weight can be just as complex as the physical care.

Caregivers in this space are balancing a lot—learning, adapting, and showing up every day in ways that aren’t always visible.

CRC OC is here to provide guidance, resources, and support along the way.

Mother’s Day can look different when you’re a caregiver.

However you’re showing up today—for your mom, as a mom, or in a role that feels like both—it matters.

Wishing you a day that feels steady, appreciated, and a little lighter.
