A big thank you to Silver Ridge Elementary for having us out for a fun and educational fire safety demonstration! 🚒🔥

One of the most important parts of fire safety education is teaching children not to be afraid of firefighters when they’re wearing their full protective gear. While we may look a little different with all our equipment on, we want kids to know that we’re there to help keep them safe!

We loved seeing all the smiles, and excitement from these future fire safety superheroes! ❤️

A HUGE thank you to all the students, principals, teachers, and parents who helped make this year’s event such a success! We also want to thank our Mayor and members of Town Council for joining us and helping present awards to our winners.

And of course, we couldn’t do it without our amazing community partners! From the wonderful gifts donated for our winners to the delicious chicken sandwiches and even a coffee truck for our attendees, your generosity helped make this celebration extra special!

After 30 years, this event continues to remind us just how special our community truly is. We are so grateful to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and helped bring it all together.

🏆 Congratulations to Fire Inspector Supervisor Chris Lowe!

Davie Fire Rescue is proud to celebrate Fire Inspector Supervisor Chris Lowe, who was recently honored with the 2026 Humanitarian of the Year Award at the American Red Cross Dine & Dock event!

With 20+ years of dedicated service, FIS Lowe has made a lasting impact on our community through his work in fire prevention, public education, and community safety.

This recognition is especially meaningful during Fire Prevention Month, reminding us just how important education and prevention are when it comes to keeping our community safe.

The Town of Davie and Davie Fire Rescue are recognizing Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10! 🔥

This year’s theme, “Charge Into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” focuses on making smart choices when using and charging lithium-ion batteries. Put your charging superpower to work with these safety tips:
🔌 Cheap charger? Don’t chance it. Use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.
📱 Soft surface? Hard pass. Charge devices on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or bare floor.
🔋 Fully charged? Time to unplug. Unplug your device once it’s fully charged.
🛴 For tools and rides, charge outside. When possible, charge e-bikes, scooters, and power tools outside, and never block an exit while charging.
🌡️ Feels hot? Stop using it. Stop using a device if it becomes very hot, swells, smells strange, leaks, smokes, or makes popping or hissing sounds.
✈️ On a flight? Keep it in sight. Keep devices where you can see them while charging. Never charge e-cigarettes or vapes on a plane, and alert a flight attendant if you notice a problem.

Small charging choices can make a big difference. Charge smart. Charge safe. ⚡
