Want an idea of how busy the Fruitport Library is this July?

We have chair yoga at the library, Snacks and Crafts in Pomona Park, and Improver Line Dancing on Mondays.
Stories in the Park in Pomona Park on Tuesdays.
Family Storytime in the mall and Beginner Line Dancing in the mall on Wednesdays.
Chair yoga in the mall on Thursdays.
Gentle yoga and Family Storytime both in the library on Fridays.

Our new BFF used bookstore is open in the Lakes Mall Wednesdays 10-7, Thursdays-Saturdays 11-7.

We are also presenting the West Michigan Winds on July 8 at 7pm at the Bandstand in Pomona Park where they'll be doing the best of Disney.

Circuit Court Judge Michael Warren and Patrick Kapenga will be presenting the history of the Declaration of Independence. This event is tentatively set for July 7 at 6pm. Judge Warren will also have copies of his books on hand to sell and sign.

Our director will be hosting a history lecture about the prehistoric animals of Michigan on July 16 at 1pm and we'll be having a kid's movie at 6pm on Thursday, July 23 with free pizza, popcorn, and beverages!

And every weekday we have free lunches for kids 0-18 from 11-1!

We will be closed for the 250th Birthday of America!

Bring the kids in the morning, come back for dancing in the afternoon, and shop great used books all day long!

We can’t wait to welcome you, your family, and our community into this new space. Come see what the Friends have been working so hard to create!

Books for Friends Used Bookstore inside The Lakes Mall near the food court entrance.

Then come back on Thursday for Chair Yoga at 12:30!

The Fruitport District Library wants YOUR input!

We are asking community members to complete our new library location survey to help guide discussions about the future home of the Fruitport District Library.

If you completed a previous survey, please fill this one out as well — this is a NEW survey with updated information and questions.

We want to hear from as many people as possible, so please share this post far and wide with friends, family, neighbors, and anyone connected to the Fruitport community. The more feedback we receive, the better we can understand the needs and hopes of the community.

Unearth a Story… and a dinosaur-sized adventure! 📚🦕

Join the Fruitport District Library for a prehistoric Kid’s Movie Night featuring The Land Before Time on Thursday, June 25 at 6pm!

Travel back to a time when Littlefoot and his friends roamed the earth in search of the Great Valley—and maybe a few snacks along the way. Speaking of snacks… we’ll have:

🥤 Free Beverages

This movie night ties in perfectly with our Summer Reading Program theme: “Unearth a Story”—because some stories are truly dino-mite! 🦴✨

“Bring out your dead!” …or just bring your curiosity to the Fruitport District Library!

Join us for our World Lecture Series as librarian and local historian Matt Lubbers-Moore discusses one of history’s most infamous events: The Black Death. Learn about the plague that reshaped Europe, changed society forever, and made people very suspicious of rats.

Discover the history, myths, medicine, and sheer chaos surrounding the pandemic that swept across the medieval world. Don’t worry, unlike the 1300s, we’ll have air conditioning, comfortable seating, and significantly fewer fleas.
