We're just a few days away!!

Fruita’s quirkiest tradition is back. Join us May 29–30, 2026, for two days of hometown fun inspired by the world-famous Mike the Headless Chicken. Expect a lively mix of food vendors, merch, family-friendly activities, and music. This year, we’re celebrating 150 years of Colorado and 250 years of the United States. Bring your friends, bring your appetite, and come celebrate 26 years of a festival that never takes itself too seriously.

The Thursday Night Concert Series returns to Civic Center Park June 4th, with free live music all summer long starting at 7:30 pm. Bring your crew, pack a picnic, spread out a blanket, and let the evening settle in around you.

Golden hour, good company, and a little something in the air that only happens when Fruita gathers under open sky.

City offices will be closed Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day.

A few things to know for the holiday:
The Fruita Community Center will be open from 5:30 AM to 6 PM. All fitness and aqua aerobics classes are canceled for the day.

Trash and recycling will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.

We hope you have a meaningful Memorial Day as we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.
