It’s not every day you meet a kitty with heterochromia — a unique genetic trait that doesn’t affect her vision, it just adds to her already undeniable beauty. 🥹

𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗵 is an absolute doll. She appreciates a slow, gentle introduction, and then soon enough she’s all about chin scratches and gives adorable little rollie pollies.

When you come to visit, you may find her cozied up in her blankie cave but she is always so happy when someone stops by and will perk right up to say hello.

I have a feeling you’ll be completely won over the moment you meet her. 💚🩵

𝗖𝗵𝗹𝗼𝗲 will be here in her condo with her blanky, looking forward to you coming by 🥹💗 She is the definition of how cats bring so much joy into our lives. 𝗖𝗵𝗹𝗼𝗲 is just the sweetest girl with such a gentle, loving personality. She has many wonderful purr-filled years ahead of her and will cherish every moment with you. 🐈✨ Senior cats really do have a special kind of magic.

Keep your pets safe this summer! This is your reminder when out and about with your pup to please take a moment and consider the 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲-𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 risks of leaving pets or children in parked vehicles.

Even on a cooler day, the temperature inside a parked car can rise incredibly fast. In Utah, summer temperatures often reach the 90°s, and in just 10 minutes, the inside of a vehicle can become 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬° 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿. Within 30 minutes, temperatures can exceed 110° degrees and quickly become life-threatening. Cracking the windows does not provide enough ventilation to keep your pet safe.

If you see an animal showing signs of 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲 inside a vehicle; such as excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, or collapsing, please 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 by calling (801) 451-4150. When temperatures rise, the safest place for your pet is 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 with plenty of water and shade.

To protect our community’s pets, Animal Care of Davis County and Davis County Sheriff's Office enforces a strict 𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗼-𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 for pets left in hot cars. When an officer responds to a call involving an animal in a vehicle and the outdoor temperatures are 70° or higher, the owner will be cited with a 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗕 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿, punishable by up to 6 months in jail and up to a $1,000 fine.

Our summer motto: “Be Cool, Not Cruel.” Hot cars can turn deadly quickly — no errand is worth risking a pet’s life.

Don’t forget about 𝗟𝗶𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗱 when searching for your new pup!

𝗟𝗶𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗱 has been doing amazing in foster care. He’s a sweet, affectionate 3yr old medium-sized boy who loves cuddles and carrying around his favorite toys 🧸 He is house trained, crate trained, and does great with 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 and other 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀!

He enjoys being part of all the outings and activities. Going for weekly runs with our volunteers is always a highlight of his week. He’s just an awesome guy, and we’re all cheering him on as he waits for his next loving home.

Born in our care back in April, look who’s all grown up and beautiful as can be… it’s 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗮! 🖤 Bonus points if you can say her name 5 times fast. 😆

𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗮 is a spunky, silly, and speedy little lady with a master’s degree in parkour! She’s not only fun and entertaining, but she’s also incredibly loving. When she’s ready to settle down, she’ll happily seek out the nearest human or feline friend and insist on some cuddle time.

She hasn’t met any 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 yet, but she does wonderfully with 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀 and, of course, absolutely loves playing with her sister Molasses. 🐈‍⬛

Say hello to 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗼! A 2yr old Poodle and Wheaten Terrier mix.

Thanks to Barks and Recreation Utah, 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗼 was gifted a lovely spa day and got a nice coat refresh! He also enjoyed some time out of the Shelter this weekend, and the family he slept over with had nothing but great things to say.

🩵 Very well-mannered!
⭐️ Does great in a crate.
💩 House and potty trained when kept on a regular schedule.
🦮 Did wonderful on walks!
🏔️ Can be a couch potato or happily join you on adventures.
👧🏼👦🏻 Does great with kids!
🐈🐶 He hasn’t lived with other animals before but he’s made friends during our doggy playgroups.

The magical transformation a little tender love and care in a foster home can create! 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘆 has come such a long way, and it makes us so happy to see her thriving and living her best kitten life.

It’s that time in kitten season where we have so many that some start waiting without applications. Early on, a single kitten may get 20+ interested adopters, but as numbers grow, some babies need a little extra spotlight to help them find their forever homes. 🩵

𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘆 arrived at our Shelter in April with a pretty bad eye infection. After receiving amazing care in her foster home, she’s now about 𝟯 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱 with bright, clear eyes again! She does still experience occasional eye drainage so regular monitoring of clogged tear ducts throughout her life will help ensure they stay healthy.

She’s plays hard, naps hard, loves her people, and wants to be wherever they are. She’ll make biscuits on your lap before curling up for a purring nap. She does great with other 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 & 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀!

Kitten adoptions are $75 and include age-appropriate vaccines, microchip, and spay/neuter surgery (which 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘆 has already had done!).
