TERMS OF USE AGREEMENT

The City’s intent is not to create a public forum, but to maintain a moderated online discussion directly relating to topics posted by the City that is appropriate for all citizens to read. All content and posts will be retained and are subject to Florida Public Records laws. The following are examples of inappropriate material:

a. Comments not topically relat

ed to the particular article being commented upon
b. Profane language or content
c. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation
d. Sexual content or links to sexual content
e. Solicitations of commerce
f. Conduct or encouragement of illegal activity
g. Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems
h. Content that violates a copyright, trademark or other legal ownership interest of any other party
i. Disparaging personal remarks or acrimony towards another person
j. Political campaign information
k. No City employee personal email addresses should be posted on these sites

Last week, City Manager Nicole McDowell had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. alongside Mayor Michael Hutto, Vice Mayor Leslie Brewer, Council Member Tashana True, and Public Works Director Josh Turner to advocate for critical funding for our community’s North Water Plant improvements.

During their visit, they met with Congressman Scott Franklin to discuss their request for approximately $4.3 million in funding for this important project. They also met with Senator Rick Scott’s staff to discuss the project and highlight the positive impact these improvements will have on our residents and future growth.

There will be NO CHANGE to our garbage collection this week. We will have our normal collection on Friday, May 29th.

Frostproof City Hall and all departments are closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Normal business operations resume Tuesday, May 26th at 8 a.m. The Latt Maxcy Memorial Library will reopen Tuesday, May 26th at 8:30 am. Students and parents may pick up their signs beginning Friday, May 15. Please simply collect your sign from the roadside on or after that date.
