With the significant cold weather predicted for our area in the coming days, we wanted to remind everyone about the use of power strips, specifically when it comes to space heaters.

Everyday electrical equipment like power strips can be a safety risk when not maintained or used properly. The Electrical Safety Foundation International reports that more than 3,300 home fires originate from power strips and extension cords each year.

With dove hunting season starting and Labor Day being celebrated this weekend, it is crucial to practice extreme caution outdoors. Hot and dry conditions in August resulted in increased wildfire activity across North and Northwest Texas recently. Even with increased moisture in the forecast, objects like grasses are still prone to catching fire.
