📚💙 Happy Read a Book Day from Moms In Motion!

Reading is for everyone! Today, we’re celebrating the many ways books can bring joy, connection, learning, and imagination into our lives.

For children and adults with disabilities, reading can be a wonderful way to support communication, build vocabulary, strengthen attention, encourage self-expression, and explore new ideas—all while enjoying time together. 🌟

Whether it’s a favorite story, a picture book, an audiobook, or a book adapted to meet individual needs, there’s no one “right” way to enjoy a good story. 📖✨

So grab a book, get comfortable, and make some time to read, listen, explore, and connect! ❤️

At Moms In Motion, we believe every person deserves opportunities to learn, grow, and be part of the journey.

Be the reason. đź’™

Be the reason someone doesn’t give up.
Be the reason a loved one keeps advocating.
Be the reason your neighbor feels seen and appreciated.
Be the reason someone who is struggling finds the strength to keep going.
Be the reason a parent realizes they’re not alone.
Be the reason someone feels loved during their hardest season.
Be the reason someone believes in a brighter future.

A hug. A phone call. A text. A few words of encouragement. A small act of kindness.

Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. We’re all walking this journey together, and we never know how much a simple act of kindness may mean to someone.

Let’s all strive to . 💙

📢 Important EVV Update: All Caregivers Will Be Required to Use EVV

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) requirements are expanding, and an upcoming change will require all caregivers—including both live-in and non-live-in caregivers—to use EVV to document services provided. 🏡📱

For non-live-in caregivers, EVV continues to provide a simple way to clock in and clock out, verify visit details, and ensure services are accurately recorded. âś…

For live-in caregivers, this change means they will also need to follow EVV procedures to document their shifts and tasks worked, helping create consistency, transparency, and accurate records across all types of caregiving arrangements. 🤝

EVV is designed to support caregivers, EORs, and the individuals receiving care by improving accountability, reducing errors, and ensuring services are properly documented. đź’™

We encourage all caregivers to become familiar with EVV now, learn how to use the available tools (app or IVR), and reach out to with any questions about this upcoming transition.

Together, we can make this change a smooth one while continuing to provide the quality care our clients deserve. 🌟

đź’ˇ DID YOU KNOW?

There’s an important difference between PPL and CDCN when it comes to correcting submitted shifts! ⏰

âś… PPL allows a 15-minute grace period after a shift has been submitted to make corrections if you notice an error.

Any corrections after the 15-minute grace period, would make the shift non-compliant.

❌ CDCN does not offer this 15-minute correction grace period after a shift has been submitted so any adjustments made would make the shift non-compliant.

📌 Remember: Take a moment to review your shift details before submitting. If you’re using PPL, you have a short window to make corrections—but with CDCN, it’s important to make sure everything is accurate before you hit submit!

Sharing this tip could help someone avoid a timekeeping headache!

Is It Time for Your MCO Open Enrollment?

Did you know that Managed Care Organization (MCO) open enrollment does not happen at the same time for everyone in Virginia? Open enrollment periods vary depending on where you live, so your enrollment window may be different from someone else's.

If you decide to change your MCO during your open enrollment period, please let your Moms In Motion Service Facilitator know as soon as possible.

Why is this important? Moms In Motion is not notified when your MCO changes. Keeping us informed helps us update your records and avoid delays or interruptions in services.

A quick call or email can help keep everything running smoothly!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month đź’›

Every child deserves the chance to grow, dream, and thrive. This month, we stand with children battling cancer, honor the strength of survivors, remember those we've lost, and recognize the families, caregivers, and healthcare teams who support them every step of the way.

Together, we can help raise awareness, encourage early detection, and support ongoing research to bring hope for better treatments and brighter futures.

📞 Did You Know? Attendants Can Use a Landline Phone for EVV Clock In/Out

If you or your attendant do not have access to a smartphone or tablet, there may be another option for recording visits through Electronic Visit Verification (EVV).

Virginia’s EVV systems allow attendants to use an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system by calling from the participant’s registered landline phone to clock in and out for approved services.

A few important reminders:
• The landline must be registered with the Fiscal Agent before use.
• The call must be made from the participant’s approved phone number.
• IVR is an option for those who cannot use mobile EVV.

Need help with EVV questions? Contact your Fiscal Agent or Service Facilitator for assistance.
