🚧 Frisco Roadway Maintenance: September 8–25

Frisco’s annual roadway maintenance program is underway September 8–25, with slurry seal and street striping work scheduled at several locations throughout town.

Schedule (weather permitting):
📍September 8–9: Striping Preparation
📍Week of September 14: Slurry seal work will take place on portions of Water Dance Drive, North Ten Mile Drive, Teller Street, Recreation Way, Creekside Drive and S. 7th Avenue.
📍September 21: Long-line striping
📍September 24–25: Thermoplastic pavement markings

🛣️ What to expect:
• Work will take place Monday–Thursday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m., and Friday, 7 a.m.–1 p.m.
• Drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists should follow posted signs and directions from traffic-control personnel.
• Several roads will have lane restrictions or temporary full closures while slurry seal cures.
• Closure notices and signage will be posted several days in advance.

Plan ahead: Move vehicles out of scheduled closure areas before work begins and do not drive or walk on newly treated pavement until the roadway has reopened.

🚧 Upcoming Construction Around Frisco Town Hall 🚧

Just a heads-up if you're planning to visit Town Hall or park nearby in the coming weeks, we’ve got two projects kicking off on Monday, August 24, and parking on both sides of Town Hall will be temporarily closed.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s happening and when:

🚗 West Lot (Closed Aug 24 – Sept 9)
Xcel Energy is drilling a test borehole for a pilot geothermal energy project aimed at bringing clean heating and cooling to the Main Street area.

What to expect: Work runs Mon–Fri, 7 AM – 7 PM. You’ll notice some construction noise and vibration (roughly similar to an idling delivery truck or brief jackhammering).

⚡ East Side / 1st Ave Parking (Closed Aug 24 – Sept 4)
We’re installing new EV chargers for the Town fleet that will also be open for public use! This installation includes roadway-level ADA-accessible charging features to ensure easy access for everyone.

Safety & Pedestrians 🚶‍♂️
Please keep an eye out for posted detour signs, construction equipment, and fenced areas when walking or driving nearby.

The Town of Frisco has been certified by DarkSky International, recognizing our community’s commitment to protecting the night sky through responsible lighting, education, community support and long-term stewardship.

🌙Dark skies, not dark ground. This isn’t about turning off all the lights, it’s about using light only when and where it’s needed, directing it downward, keeping it at appropriate levels, using controls, and choosing warmer-colored lighting.

This certification helps protect Frisco’s mountain character, wildlife and views of the stars while creating a safer, more beautiful nighttime environment for residents and visitors.

🐻 The bears are out and they’re HUNGRY!

Bears are busy foraging around town, and unfortunately, some are finding an easy meal in our trash. Help keep bears wild and our neighborhoods clean:

🗑️ Put garbage cans out only a few hours before pickup — NOT the night before.
🏠 If possible, store your trash can indoors until pickup day.
🔒 Can’t store it inside? Consider a ratchet tie-down like the one pictured. They cost around $20 and can help keep bears out of your garbage.

Protecting our bears starts with keeping human food and trash out of reach. And let’s be honest… nobody wants to clean up after a bear has raided the garbage! 🐻🗑️

🚧 Heads up, Frisco! Main Street will have a partial closure Monday, August 17 from 7:00am–3:00pm for concrete replacement work.

🛑 Main Street impacts:
• Eastbound traffic will be closed
• Please follow posted detours and signage and respect traffic control flaggers
• Avoid the impacted area when possible

🔜Future work will necessitate one- to two-day closures at the Galena Street alley between 4th and 5th Avenues and at 7th Avenue and Granite Street. These closures and detours will be announced several days in advance.

Concrete replacement work will continue around Frisco Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. through August but work on Frisco Main Street is anticipated to be complete on Monday, August 17.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the partial road closures on Main Street this past week. We recognize the importance of providing timely notice about traffic disruptions and will do better to communicate upcoming closures.
