Do you know a 12-18 yrs old who is interested in spending the summer outside and learning about environmental stewardship? Encourage them to apply for our summer 2022 program!

The Youth Conservation Corps provides conservation and stewardship summer programs for youth ages 12-18. The summer program runs for 8 weeks June-August. There is one 5 -15 person crew led by 2 adult field guides per island on Orcas, Lopez, and San Juan Island.

We've had great interest in applying for the new Climate & Sustainability Advisory Committee, but are still in search of one youth member, age 16-19, to bring the youth perspective on climate issues and actions. Youth representative will serve a 2-year term, and will be a voting member of the board with the same responsibilities.

POSITION: Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) Crew Leader
WORK SCHEDULE: Seasonal temporary, ~35 hours per week
LOCATION: San Juan Island, Lopez Island, and Orcas Island
TIME PERIOD: June 20th - August 19th, 2022
WAGE: $18.00 - 21.00 hourly, based on experience

In partnership with the San Juan Islands Youth Conservation Corps, Alchemy Art Center is in the process of finalizing a youth program for spring 2022, and we need your input on a few final details such as timing, age, and potential barriers that may impact signup. Please fill out the below survey and provide your feedback of what you would be looking for in this program.

In this 12-week program, middle/high school ages student will meet one to two times per week for art and field projects, in which these young environmentalists learn from Alchemy artists and staff, local and regional guest artists, land managers and scientists.
