What a joy it was to watch the parade of FHHS seniors through Friday Harbor Elementary, Middle, and High Schools last Friday! Congratulations to all the students who graduated over the weekend! We are proud of you and can't wait to see what your futures hold.

Friday Harbor High School STEM Solar Project Online!
The Friday Harbor High School STEM Building is officially making even more power from the sun. ☀️⚡

Thanks to the generous work of Northwest Electric & Solar, our new rooftop solar array is now online and producing clean energy for our campus. This 8.1 kW system includes 30 solar modules and is projected to generate about 8,260 kWh of electricity each year—a visible, working example of renewable energy right here at FHHS. This, combined with the Bonneville Solar4R Schools Project, means we are producing solar energy with over 60 solar panels.

For our students, this is more than a building upgrade. It is a real-world teaching tool connected to engineering, sustainability, electrical systems, climate solutions, and the skilled trades. Students will be able to see renewable energy in action on their own campus and connect classroom learning to the systems shaping our future.

Huge thanks to Northwest Electric & Solar for investing in Friday Harbor students and helping us build a more sustainable STEM program.

We are excited to celebrate two graduation ceremonies on Saturday, June 6th. Griffin Bay School's graduation will begin at noon in the Grange Hall. Friday Harbor High School's ceremony will begin at 5 pm in the Turnbull Gym (note that doors will open at 4pm).

The Primary Intervention Program (P.I.P.) at Friday Harbor elementary would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to United Way of San Juan County for your continued generosity and commitment to our students. Because of your generosity, we were able to provide another year of meaningful support to students who are navigating difficult changes, uncertainty, worries, and other challenges that can impact their focus and learning. Your contribution helped our students develop a sense of control over their world, build resilience, discover their strengths and gain the confidence they need to thrive in the classroom. Thank you for your partnership and support in helping to make a positive impact on the youth in our schools and community.
