Felt really cool to go back to the old stomping ground. Everything seems small now (obviously), kinda wild.

Yes we took a picture with the Toy Story characters.

(PUNJABI): New RecPlex Facility Coming to Livingston‼️

The City just approved a $5M contract with Bobo Construction to turn the Livingston Farmers Association building into a brand new Rec Plex Facility.

The new rec building will have indoor basketball courts, studio rooms, picnic area, an office, storage space, and landscaping and lighting throughout.

The project is largely funded by a Prop 68 Grant that the City received back in 2021.

You might be wondering why the project isn't complete yet. In 2021, Councilmembers were more focused on raising their family members' salaries, having the City pay for personal home improvements, and firing anyone that they didn't like.

This set us back, big time, but the project is back on track. Unfortunately, we've had to scale back the design significantly to account for funding shortfalls due to inflation.

The grant requires that we open our doors by December of 2027, so we're expecting construction to be complete by the end of next year.

This will be a huge addition to recreational opportunity in Livingston, and it'll fundamentally transform our ability to host events in the D St Corridor.

(PUNJABI): Good news:

We got a new playground structure coming to the MaX Fosters Sports Complex.

It will include a large play structure, swings, shade structures, and ADA accesible equipment.

The total cost to the City was just over $140,000 (quote included).

It will take a couple months for delivery, after which installation will proceed.

Swings were not initially in this plan, they were included at the request of the residents.

Your reminder to stay active in the civic process. You'll never get exactly what you want, but requests can only be fulfilled if they are localized.

I'd like to thank City Staff that worked on this over several months. There was a lot of back and forth to get this right (adding swings, shade structures, and other tweaks).
