The ARF Soghomon Tehlirian Gomideh of Fresno would like to thank everyone who attended our weekend long Celebration. On Saturday, March 14th, the weekend started on Saturday night where we celebrated the 135th Anniversary of the founding of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation at the Garo and Alice Gureghian Armenian Cultural Center of Fresno. We were at full capacity with the attendance of all our Sister Organizations as well as many of our fellow Ungers from Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. We were also honored to have Surpazan Torkom Donoyan in attendance and conduct the evening’s prayer and blessing of the food. Nshan Der Kalousdian was the MC for both the event on Saturday night and on Sunday afternoon. The ARF Soghomon Tehlirian’s remarks were presented by Ung. Van Boghossian, a Gomideh member of the Fresno chapter. Afterwords, the Chairman of the ARF Soghomon Tehlirian presented a “In Memoriam” for all the Ungers who have passed in the last 40 years. The night was filled with amazing food, ambience, heartfelt program, and the renewal of commitment to our community and organization. The evening’s entertainment was DJ Raffy from San Francisco and singer Hratch Gaydzagian. On Sunday, March 15th, a special Hoke Hankist service was held for Soghomon Tehlirian at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Fresno. Immediately afterwards, the congregation went to the monument of our National Hero and held a small program. Ung, Van Boghossian once more relayed the Tehlirian Gomideh remarks which was then followed by a poetry selection presented by Ung. Zvart Boghossian. To conclude the program, Ung. Berj Kalamkarian, Chairman of the Armenian Youth Federation Kevork Chavoush Chapter of Fresno, gave the remarks from the Youth. We would like to give a special thanks the the Fresno Homenetmen Sassoon Scouts for being present at both events and presenting the flags Saturday night and presenting the Wreath at the monument today. It was a very special weekend that was filled with success and comradery. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
