Independent Living Program (ILS):

Transitional Services: Support for individuals adjusting to new environments like residences, schools, or jobs. Mobility Training: Instruction on using public transportation and emphasizing road safety. Safety and Emergency Response: Training on awareness, traffic cues, emergency systems, and fire safety. Advocacy and Awareness Promotion: Fostering self-esteem and knowledge of personal rights, stress management, and personal boundaries. Health and Hygiene: Support and training in appearance, personal health, and grooming. Appropriate Relationship Development: Developing skills for positive social interaction and identifying trusted individuals. Money Management: Various approaches to budgeting, financial literacy, and enrollment in money-saving programs. Community Service Provider Liaison: Facilitating communication and coordination with various community providers. KALOS is a trusted asset for consumers as we are a tool providing clear and unmitigated explanations, descriptions, and alternatives. A fundamental facet of KALOS is the consumer has the final word on independent decision - making. It follows that in KALOS' program the consumer is responsible for their actions. KALOS will offer assistance with remedies for poor decision making, with the consumer ultimately being responsible for their actions. OUR MISSION:
The mission of KALOS is to provide high quality independent living, supported living, and community integration services to our consumers by offering guidance and instruction. KALOS' ILS, SLS, and CIP
programs are individualized and become distinct to the consumer being served. KALOS' efficacy shall be determined by the success of our consumers leading productive and meaningful lives.
