Thank you, ABC30! ๐Ÿ’š We loved having the ABC30 Action News team join us for a day of volunteering at Central California Food Bank. In addition to lending a helping hand, they hosted an online fundraiser to help provide meals for neighbors facing hunger right here in Central California!

Together with Amazon.com and Lithia Subaru of Fresno , their support is helping provide more than 400,000 meals for our neighbors.

โ˜€๏ธ Summer should be a time for kids to enjoy being kidsโ€”not worry about where their next meal will come from.

Each month, Central California Food Bank helps provide food to more than 320,000 neighbors, and more than 100,000 of them are children. During the summer months, many families face higher grocery bills as children lose access to school meals.

That's why we're inviting our community to become a Summer Sponsor. With just three monthly gifts while school is out, you can help provide nutritious food to children and families throughout Central California.

Together, we can help ensure summer break doesn't mean an empty plate.

We were honored to welcome U.S. Senator Adam Schiff to Central California Food Bank for a community roundtable with local leaders, nonprofit partners, educators, agricultural representatives, and advocates working to address hunger across our region.

The conversation focused on the Farm Bill, SNAP/CalFresh, and the need for continued federal support for hunger-relief efforts and food assistance programs. Representatives from organizations including Fresno Mission, Centro La Familia Advocacy Services, Inc., Clovis Community College, CA, Save the Children US, Breaking The Chains, County of Fresno, CASA of Fresno and Madera Counties, Tulare County Office of Education, and Nova Farming, shared their perspectives and the needs they are seeing in the communities they serve.

Senator Schiff also had the opportunity to tour our facilities and see the progress being made on our future Volunteer Center, which will help expand our capacity to engage volunteers and support our mission of ending hunger in Central California.

Thank you to Senator Schiff and all of our community partners for participating in this important conversation.

Last Friday, we welcomed U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Regional Director, Victoria Seaman to Central California Food Bank for a conversation about hunger relief, nutrition priorities, and the importance of partnerships in supporting families across Central California.

During the visit, Director Seaman toured our warehouse and learned more about the work our team and partners do every day to help provide nutritious food to neighbors facing food insecurity.

Thank you to Fresno City Councilmember, Nick Richardson - D. 6 for coordinating the visit and helping bring important conversations around hunger and public health to our community.

In Easton, rising costs are putting pressure on families. Through our Neighborhood Market with Immanuel Lutheran Church, neighbors can access fresh fruits & vegetables close to home, helping stretch budgets while keeping healthy meals on the table for families in Central California. ๐Ÿ’š
