More wet weather will be coming into our area beginning Wednesday. Be prepared for wet road conditions.

With the expected arrival of moisture from an atmospheric river early on Wednesday, heavy precipitation will be observed across the Central California Interior. This heavy precipitation allowed for the issuance of Excessive Rainfall and Probabilistic Potential Outlooks for Marginal to Moderate impacts, respectively, across the higher terrain of the Sierra Nevada.

Heat is typically the leading cause of weather-related fatalities each year. Winds will begin to pick up this afternoon, with the heavy gusting taking place from 5PM for about 12 hours to 5AM. Rain might also be starting in our area this evenig.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the San Joaquin Valley from 1 PM PST Tuesday afternoon until 7 AM PST Wednesday morning. A High Wind Warning is in effect for the Coastal Range through the same time period. Travel could be quite difficult for high profile vehicles.

Warming centers will be open in Fresno

City of Fresno warming centers will be open Tuesday, December 13th from 7:00 p.m. to Wednesday, December 14th at 7:00 a.m.

City warming centers open when temperatures drop below 35 degrees based on US National Weather Service Hanford California projections. Fresno FAX will provide free transportation to anyone who needs to reach a City of Fresno warming center using existing FAX bus routes.
