What a turnout!

We had an overwhelming response to our first Movies in the Park of the fall, and there’s nothing better than seeing Trolley Park filled with families, neighbors, and friends enjoying a night together.

Thank you to everyone who came out for Shrek 2, along with free snacks, refreshments, and ice cream from the LEE’S Air, Plumbing & Heating Ice Cream Truck!

The fun continues this Friday with Monsters vs Aliens! Bring the family, grab a spot on the lawn, and join us for another great night at Trolley Park.

Fresno is a city built by people who work hard.

On Labor Day, we honor the generations of workers who fought for fair wages, safer workplaces, and the protections many families rely on today. We also recognize the people who get up every day and keep our city running, building our neighborhoods, caring for our families, supporting our businesses, and serving our community.

I want to thank every Fresno worker who shows up each day, works hard, and helps move our city forward. Your dedication is what keeps our families, neighborhoods, and local economy strong.

In observance of Labor Day, Fresno City Hall will be closed on Monday, September 7, and will resume operations on Tuesday, September 8. To report an issue, please call 311 or use the FresGO app at any time.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, restful, and meaningful Labor Day!

I’m proud to recognize the U.S. Green Building Council Central California Chapter for its continued leadership in advancing healthier, more sustainable communities across Central California. I wasn’t able to present this proclamation personally, so I’m grateful to Mayor Dyer for presenting it on my behalf and helping recognize the chapter’s important work.

Their leadership is helping shape how our communities grow by promoting spaces that are more resilient, efficient, and built to serve generations to come. In recognition of that commitment, the we proclaimed September 7–11, 2026, as “International Green Building Week”, in the City of Fresno.

When women are given the opportunity to succeed, entire families and communities are stronger.

I was honored to celebrate the official charter of Soroptimist International of Fresno and recognize the women who are building something that will have an impact far beyond today.

This charter marks the beginning of a new chapter of service in Fresno, and I was proud to recognize it with a City proclamation. Congratulations to the founding members whose leadership will help open doors for generations of women and girls to come.

I was proud to recognize “Young Parents Day” in the City of Fresno and present a proclamation to Shine Together for their dedication to supporting young parents who are working hard to build a stable future for their families.

While becoming a young parent brings real challenges, organizations like Shine Together ensure that those who do find themselves on that path have access to education, resources, and a strong support system. Their work helps families stay on track, pursue opportunity, and break barriers that can lead to long-term hardship.

Thank you, Shine Together, for standing with young parents throughout Fresno and helping them move forward with confidence, dignity, and hope.

I had the honor of celebrating Oliver Browner, Fresno’s own rising yo-yo star. Oliver not only received his very own day in the City of Fresno, we also kicked off his birthday a little early since his big day is tomorrow.

In just one year, Oliver has gone from teaching himself online to earning top finishes at state and national competitions.

Happy early birthday, Oliver. Keep spinning, keep smiling, and keep making Fresno proud.
