The Fremont Fire Department is responsible for providing the rapid delivery of fire, medical, rescue, and life safety emergency services within Fremont. Emergency services are delivered through 12 in-service fire companies from 10 strategically located fire stations in the city. The Fremont Fire Department’s primary goals are to reduce casualties and the loss of life; improve patient outcomes; red

uce and prevent property loss and damage; effect successful extrication of trapped victims; and protect the environment from the effects of a hazardous materials release.

Engineer/Paramedic Ryan Eisfeld is pictured (left) alongside the dedicated team of public safety professionals and the 7‑year‑old patient whose life they saved. Earlier this summer, while hiking with her father, the young patient suffered a life‑threatening medical emergency at the top of Mission Peak. A coordinated multi‑agency response was initiated through 911, bringing together the Fremont Fire Department and the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department’s helicopter unit to build a rescue plan that ensured immediate access to advanced medical care and rapid transport to the hospital. Their swift, collaborative actions ultimately saved her life.

🚒 Last evening, at approximately 9:26 p.m., Fremont Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on Blacow Rd. The first engine arrived quickly and observed fire from both floors, extending to the roof of the structure. The incident was upgraded to a second alarm, bringing 33 firefighters to the scene.

The fire was brought under control in just over 30 minutes. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

📢 Fire Safety Reminders: If a fire starts in your apartment, close doors behind you as you evacuate to slow the spread of smoke and flames.
2️⃣ Always know two ways out of your building so you can escape quickly if fire blocks your main exit.

🎉Congratulations to our Summer 2026 CERT Basic Training and refresher cohorts! On Monday, August 17, twenty new graduates and five refresher students were sworn in – joining the ranks of 113 CERT Volunteers trained by the Fire Department since 2025.

🔥Fremont Fire Department hosted a Live-action Drill in collaboration with PG&E on August 11 at our Tactical Training Center on Stevenson Blvd. The event was an incredible success, drawing in crews from Fremont who participated in valuable training sessions focused on gas and electric emergencies. Afterward, we transitioned into a full-scale, multi-hazard drill that included scenarios such as a live gas line fire, downed wires, a vehicle accident, and a confined space rescue involving a simulated worker. The drill included various professionals from PG&E who worked alongside Fire Department crews to mitigate each simulated emergency.

We were excited to have our public safety service partners join us from Alameda County Fire Department Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department and Falck Alameda.

Fremont Fire had a great time out in the community over the weekend at the Festival of the Arts! While everyone was enjoying local artisans, food, and music, our personnel were on site monitoring the event and responded to a handful of medical calls to keep all patrons safe and cared for!

❗️Today, just after 5:00 P.M., the Fremont Fire Department responded to a confirmed residential structure fire on Spady Street. Fire from the primary structure spread to a second home, which brought a total of two alarms to the scene.

Fremont Firefighters were able to bring the fire in both buildings under control within 45-minutes, limiting damage to the second home. There are no reported injuries, although residents have been displaced.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Fremont Fire Investigators.
