The future is bright for Michigan 4-H youth!

Thanks to the generosity and lifelong dedication of incredible donors and volunteers, six new scholarship funds have been established to help Michigan 4-H’ers pursue their postsecondary education goals. From honoring longtime 4-H leaders to supporting youth across local communities and statewide, these scholarships will create meaningful opportunities for future generations of young leaders.

We were thrilled to welcome young people from all over Newaygo County for our 4-H Farm Safety Day on May 16. Participants enjoyed a fun, educational day moving through various safety stations. This successful event relies heavily on community collaboration. We extend our sincere gratitude to the 4-H volunteers, teens, parents, and donors such as Catherine and Joan Orbits and the Newaygo 4-H Council for being there for Newaygo County 4-H. Registration for the 2026 Michigan 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl Contest is now open! This contest is open to any Michigan 4-H youth who are interested in dairy and/or animal science. The contest is open to youths aged 8-19 as of January 1, 2026. The registration cost is free. The contest will be held in Anthony Hall on Saturday, June 27th, 2026, and begin at 10:00 a.m. Registration closes on June 15th, 2026. Both county teams and individuals interested in competing are encouraged to register! Please reach out to Kendra Van Order at [email protected] for any questions.
