The Office of Economic Development is dedicated to providing the community with a strong, diverse, and adaptable economy where businesses can be successful in the global marketplace and where residents and visitors can enjoy high-quality retail amenities. • Serves as an ombudsman to the business community in an effort to expedite and streamline regulatory processes
• Produces marketing and communications strategies and materials to promote Fremont as a great place to live, work, and play
• Hosts and sponsors a variety of workshops and seminars to help Fremont businesses grow

It was an honor to join Agility Robotics in celebrating the Grand Opening of their new 60,000-square-foot Fremont facility, marking another exciting milestone in Fremont’s innovation story.

Agility Robotics is helping shape the future of robotics with Digit, a humanoid robot designed to work alongside people by taking on repetitive and physically demanding tasks, improving workplace safety while supporting businesses facing workforce challenges.

This investment will create new jobs in Fremont and further strengthen our city’s leadership in artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.

Have you noticed a little red robot cruising around Fremont? That’s Dot, DoorDash’s new all-electric autonomous delivery robot, built right here in Fremont!

You may see Dot traveling through parts of the city as part of a phased rollout. During this phase, Dot is helping map local streets and create a real-time 3D view of the environment to support safe navigation around pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles. Trained operators accompany the robots as they test and engage with the community.

Based on the results of the pilot and community feedback, an amended permit could allow the robots to operate autonomously within the service area, including Downtown/City Center, Centerville, and Irvington, with the option to operate remotely as needed.

Dot is designed to help deliver orders from local restaurants while safely traveling on neighborhood streets, bike lanes, and sidewalks. This partnership highlights Fremont’s leadership in advanced robotics while exploring new ways to support local restaurants and our community.

As the program expands, the City will continue to monitor safety and gather community feedback.

Only a few days left to sign up! Get ready for sweet holiday fun at our Gingerbread Cookie Decorating Workshop during the Second Annual Holidays at the Plaza at the Downtown Event Center Plaza (3500 Capitol Ave, Fremont)!

This festive, hands-on kids’ activity takes place Friday, December 5, from 5:00 to 8:30 pm, with five time slots open for registration.

Registration is LIVE, and spots are limited — sign up through the link in our bio!

While you’re there, enjoy the full event: a 6:00 pm tree lighting, hot chocolate, holiday market, photo booth, and even a visit from the Grinch! 🎄
