Ever wonder what species of mosquitoes are living in your yard? Mosquitoes aren't all the same—different species can carry different diseases and have different breeding habits.

Sandusky County Public Health can help identify what mosquitoes may be present around your home. If you're interested in setting up a mosquito trap on your property to help with mosquito surveillance efforts, contact us for more information!

Knowing what's buzzing in your backyard is the first step to protecting yourself, your family, and your community.

📸🌟 SHOW US HOW YOU CHOOSE HEALTH! 🌟📸

How do you and your family choose health in our community?
Whether it's riding bikes, jumping rope, taking a walk, creating sidewalk chalk art, shopping at the farmers market, gardening, playing at the park, or spending time outdoors, we want to see the healthy choices that make our community stronger!

📅 Contest Dates:
• Contest Opens: June 15, 2026
• Submission Deadline: August 14, 2026

📧 How to Enter:
Email your photo in JPG format to [email protected] with the subject line: "Show Us How You Choose Health."

Please include:
• Your Name
• Phone Number
• JPG Photo Submission

📸 Photo Requirements:
• Limit one photo submission per person
• Photos must be original work taken by the submitter
• Photos should reflect healthy activities, behaviors, or environments within our community
• Submitted photos must be in JPG format

🏆 Prize:
The winning photographer will receive a gift card, and their winning photo will be professionally printed on canvas and displayed at Sandusky County Public Health!

Come out to the health department today to pick up your free tomato plant. Generously donated by Route 6 Farm Market, Helena. We will be here 9 - 5 pm. First come - first serve, limit one per person.
