The Illinois government is coming for your second amendment rights… And they’re coming hard 
Alert: Illinois may soon tax Illinois FOID card holders - a new tax on legal Illinois fi****ms owners.
This past spring, Illinois Democrats brought forth a new law that would require you to buy government-approved insurance just to apply for, or renew, a FOID Card.
The legislation, HB43, would create a new task force, appointed by JB Pritzker, to study whether or not the Illinois should create legislation that require law abiding Illinois fi****ms owners to buy state run insurance as a condition of applying for a FOID Card.
The legislation is sponsored by Democrats Rep. Bob Morgan, Laura "plastic bag tax" Faver Dias and Yolonda Morris.
Bill status: The new law has not been called up for a final vote in the state legislature as of the May 31st deadline, its potential passage has been delayed by a few months…. However, the law is not dead yet and could be brought up for a vote in the fall 2026 veto session by Democrats. This page will keep an eye on its progress and report back,
Analysis: This bill has nothing to do with public safety. The bill is about increased paperwork, and of course, the chance to generate more revenue for the state of Illinois through fees from insurance, much of which would be sent to the State of Illinois and Chicago.
Criminals won’t buy insurance.
