BIDDERS NOTICE
The City will be accepting closed bids on the following:
Red 2000 GMC C8500 Chassis Truck
9,155 miles
1,062 hours
5-speed manual, gasoline

This is a chassis only that was taken out of service from the fire department. Very well taken care of and in great shape.

If interested, please drop off or mail a sealed bid to Freeport City Hall, PO Box 301, Freeport, MN 56331, prior to Tuesday, May 26, 2026 @ 4pm. All bids must have a description of the truck being bid on clearly labeled on the front.

Bids will be opened and considered by City Council at our May 26 meeting that starts at 7pm. Council reserves the right to refuse any and all bids.

It is normal to see discolored water. If you do notice your water looks rusty, run your cold tap until it clears and make sure water is clear before washing whites.

Freeport really said “we’ll take extra burgers and extra community spirit” yesterday—selling out of 600 burgers! 👏🍔💙

What an incredible turnout at the Burgers for Bucks freewill donation event for the Freeport Fire Department! 🔥

From flipping burgers to filling plates and sharing laughs, it was a perfect reminder of what makes our community so special.

Help Abby find her way back home! Abby is a chihuahua that was involved in a car accident with her owner yesterday afternoon just west of Freeport on I-94. Everyone is ok, but Abby ran north of the scene towards County Road 157 and has not been located since.

Please send us a message if you have any information to help get her back with her owner, thank you!

🌿 City of Freeport – 2026 Yard Waste Pickup Information 🌿

Borgmann Disposal Services will provide weekly yard waste pickup on Fridays starting May 1st through November 20th (weather permitting).
Special Saturday pickups: May 30 & September 12.

Guidelines for Service:

*Yard waste should be loose and unbagged in your provided container.
*Accepted items include: grass clippings, leaves, garden plants, flowers, small sticks, and branches no larger than 2” in diameter and 3’ in length.
*All yard waste must be free of trash, dirt, rocks, bricks, concrete, or other non-yard debris.
*Piles of brush, tree limbs, tree trunks, or other trimmings placed outside the container will NOT be picked up during weekly service.

🍂 Fall Extra Leaf Pickup: Friday, November 6th

Available for residents with or without a yard waste container.
Please use durable bags no larger than 55 gallons or smaller liftable containers for collection.
