No one should face the day hungry. Our mission is feeding Brazosport’s hungry through the distribution of food, education, collaboration, and advocacy.

At Brazosport Cares, we envision a secure food community where everyone has reliable access to affordable and nutritious food. We accomplish this by:

-Providing a supplemental feeding program to the hungry that provides nutrition in a dignified and compassionate manner.
-Conducting educational programs that can lead toward a long-term change in people’s lives.
-Connecting people with services tha

t can help them improve their quality of life and achieve self-sufficiency.
-Building community awareness around food insecurity, its impact, and solutions.
-Serving as subject matter experts on food insecurity in our community. Brazosport Cares Hours of Operation:

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9 am to 11:30 am
The 2nd and 4th Thursday evening of the month from 4 pm to 6 pm
The last Saturday of every month from 9 am to 11:30 am
We deliver food boxes to our HOPE (Healthy Options Program for the Elderly) the last week of the month.

5,803 pounds of food collected. 🧡📬

Because of the incredible generosity of our community and the hard work of our local branch of the National Association of Letter Carriers, thousands of pounds of food will help stock our shelves and support neighbors facing hunger this summer.

Our Freeport and Sweeny locations will be closed next week, and normal pantry operations will resume the week of June 1st. Administration offices will be closed Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day, and will be open the remainder of the week.

For 40 years, Brazosport Cares has had one simple mission: making sure no one faces the day hungry.

What started in 1986 has grown into a community-wide effort that provided more than 1.7 million meals in 2025 alone. And now, with the opening of our new facility, we’re preparing to serve even more families for years to come.

As we celebrate 40 Years of Fighting Hunger, we’re also looking ahead to the future. Through our free partner, FreeWill, you can create or update your will and help continue this mission for generations to come.

What an incredible day of community support! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to all of the amazing volunteers from TDECU Cares who showed up to help sort donations from the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Together, they sorted nearly 3,000 pounds of food that will help stock our shelves and support local families this summer. 🥫☀️

Because of volunteers like you, we can continue fighting hunger right here in our community.

We are so thankful to everyone who joined us in Sweeny to support the Bulldog Marketplace. The evening was filled with fun, laughter, friendly competition, and an incredible sense of community.

What a day to remember 🧡

Last week, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting and grand opening of our new home, and we're still feeling so grateful.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for being part of such a meaningful milestone. Your presence made the day even more special.
