Empire Elementary School

Empire Elementary School There are currently 269 wonderful students enrolled at Empire along with a dedicated team of 48 certified and classified staff members.

Together with the Empire community of parents, grandparents, volunteers, business partners and staff members, we hold high expectations for our students and staff. While teaching to the Illinois State Standards, our teachers incorporate a variety of instructional strategies to reach each student's learning potential. In this educational setting, instruction is conducted in guided reading groups, l

eveled math groups and in whole group. We believe quality education can be achieved through high expectations of student performance and behavior; strong family/school/community partnerships; and a dedicated enthusiastic staff committed to providing the best education possible for the students at Empire Elementary. Empire Elementary is a community of caring people who have created a safe and nurturing environment where students feel included, respected and valued. Due to a gas leak at Empire School, the building and surrounding block have been closed off by emergency personnel. No one is permitted to enter the building at this time.

If you have NOT yet dropped off your student, please do not bring them to school.

If you HAVE already dropped off your student, please return immediately to pick them up. You will need to park on a nearby block and walk to the designated pick-up area, as the street directly around the school is closed.

Bus Information:
โ€ข If your student rides the bus and has NOT yet been picked up, the bus will not arrive for pick-up this morning.
โ€ข If your student is already on the bus, they will be returned to their regular bus stop.

If you need alternate drop-off instructions for your bus student, please contact Transportation immediately at 815-232-0580.
