This week, members of the Freeport Police Department traveled to Washington, D.C. for National Police Week to honor Detective Patrick Franzone, whose name was added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Wall.

His sacrifice from a 9/11-related illness will never be forgotten, and his legacy will forever remain a part of our department.

Proud day at the capital for the Freeport Police Department.

Sgt. Jayson Kaulesar earned his 3rd consecutive Recognition of Excellence Award—a testament to sustained professionalism, leadership, and commitment to keeping our community safe.

We’re also proud to announce that the Freeport Police Department was named “Department of the Year” among agencies with 100–250 sworn officers.

This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of every member of the department.

Our officers will be taking part in the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee “No Empty Chair” campaign. Through education and enforcement, we’ll be addressing unsafe driving behaviors among young drivers — with one goal in mind: making sure there are no empty seats at graduation this year.
