Today, June 14, we celebrate Flag Day!
At the firehouse across Monmouth County, our flag flies daily as a symbol of pride, community, and the freedom we swear to protect. If you are displaying Old Glory at your home today, here are a few quick reminders for proper flag etiquette:
🌞 Sunup to Sundown: Customarily, the flag should only be displayed from sunrise to sunset unless it is properly illuminated at night.
⛈️ Weather Check: Bring your flag indoors during severe weather, unless you are flying an all-weather nylon flag.
🔝 Position of Honor: When displayed with other flags, the U.S. flag should always be at the center and at the highest point of the group.
We wish everyone in Monmouth County a proud and safe Flag Day!
