: This annual celebration falls on June 14th since that's when was adopted by the Second Continental Congress back in 1777. America's flag did look a bit different then, since each star represents a state and there were only 13 of them at the time. Every time America grew, our flag evolved, with its current design finalized in 1960 when Hawaii became the 50th state!
